April Financial Literacy Month and Some Changes to Money is not Taboo

You might already be aware, but April is Financial Literacy Month, per a US Senate resolution passed in 2004. Although April is THE month, financial literacy should be promoted year round.

Many of us are doing just that. We’ve realized that financial literacy, and money in general, is not regularly talked about on a day to day basis. For some reason, folks tend to treat money and financial strategies as taboo.

Not here, as you can tell by the name of this site. Nope, we like to talk about money, sharing with others and learning from others. I wish I had learned more at an earlier age and had been able to teach my kids more when they were young. But hey, it’s better late than never, right?

If you’ve checked out Money is not Taboo in the past, then you’ve noticed major changes to the website. Many thanks to Rachel Foxwell Slifka for her guidance in helping make the site more professional, not only in her blog contributions but also in recommendations in cleaning up the site.

So, stay tuned for more good info to come!
