We Rode Out Hurricane Harvey

Sorry, nothing financial this Monday. We’ve been dealing with life happenings.

If you’ve followed the news at all, you’ve seen news about Hurricane Harvey hitting Texas. It did and roared right up on top of us. Luckily, we were inland enough that it knocked out some it Harvey’s steam.

We were lucky compared to many folks Our worst damage is the tractor shed being turned upside down. There’s a little damage here and there, but we didn’t lose anything major, especially our lives.

Luckily, it simply rolled over and the contents of the shed stayed on the brick floor. I parked the tractor with its bucket over one side, as it was trying to blow across the field.

We’ve had no telling how many inches of rain. We did a little look around in the back 360 acres, actually the mid 160 acres, and there is water running everywhere. Luckily, neither the old windmill or the working windmill were blown over.

In fact, the only thing blown over was the TracPort.

Can’t say the same about the little towns nearby.

Lots of damage throughout the state.

Luckily, it doesn’t look like we’re going to be out much money for the damages. I think that I can get the TracPort upright and repositioned. That’s my plan.

Well, we’re bouncing back from a number of nights of crappy sleep, so we’re not doing much.

Prayers for all the Texans who’ve lost more than us.

Until next time, Peace. Shin
